In 2012, Dan Tasset reflected on how local service in Kansas City and firsthand experiences in Haiti and Malawi shaped his commitment to addressing injustice through sustainable healthcare. These experiences led him to found One5, a global health organization focused on building and equipping clinics, delivering life-saving care, and strengthening local health systems in underserved communities. Grounded in the belief that healthcare is a basic human need, this work marked a pivotal expansion of Dan’s philanthropic mission beyond crisis response toward lasting, community-led impact.
