Methodist McKinney Hospital Reaches Critical Milestone
with Topping Out Ceremony

McKINNEY, TX (June 8, 2009) – Vertical construction at Methodist McKinney Hospital, Collin County’s newest hospital, was completed recently when the last steel beam was put into place during a topping out ceremony. More than 75 hospital supporters attended the event, including local physicians, representatives from Nueterra Healthcare and Methodist Health System, and members of the McKinney City Council and the Stonebridge Ranch Ladies’ Association.

The event included an invocation by Rev. John Mollet, head pastor of Stonebridge United Methodist Church and comments from Dr. Vuhdi Slabisak, chairman of the hospital operations board, Dr. Ann Synder, chairman of the hospital real estate board, Leslie Barden, senior vice president of planning and marketing for Methodist Health System, and Dr. Steven Mansfiled, CEO of the Methodist Health System.

In addition to completing vertical construction of the hospital, the hospital real estate board recently finalized a deal with Kessinger/Hunter, a Kansas City-based commercial real estate company, to develop the first medical office building on the campus. The medical office building will be built adjacent to the hospital and will provide office space for various health and wellness providers.

“I am thrilled that this project is on schedule and on budget,” said Dan Tasset, chairman of Nueterra Healthcare, the development and management partner of the hospital. “Every day we’re getting closer to completing the hospital and opening its doors to the residents of Collin County. Additionally, the selection of the medical office building developer is a real testament to the hard work of all those involved. Nueterra is certainly proud to be involved in this venture.”

The 65,000+ sq. ft. hospital will allow area physicians to expand medical services available to residents of Collin County and surrounding areas, providing high-quality, patient-focused medical care. The hospital will open with six fully-equipped operating rooms, comprehensive diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI services, and 15 private patient rooms. Future construction updates will be available on the hospital’s Web site at www.methodistmckinneyhospital.com.

Methodist McKinney Hospital is a joint venture partnership between area physicians, Methodist Health System, and Nueterra Healthcare. The facility will offer a wide array of physician specialties including: primary care, orthopedics, general surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, gynecology, and pain management. The hospital will focus on treating all patients appropriate for its array of medical specialties and services.
